Your application

If you like to receive a quick answer to your application, please make sure you have provided the following details:

  • your availability (full time, is part time possible earlier?)
  • your financial expectations
  • what is the best time to call you?
  • Your CV (Word Format) – see more details below
  • your project references – see more details below

Your CV

If you like to receive a quick answer to your application, please make sure your CV has the following:

  • Word format – this helps us reformatting it for the customer
  • Contact details
  • Knowledge of languages – English, German (German is very welcome, at least B2 really helps)
  • No gaps between your high school graduation and now
  • Reverse chronological order of education and experiences
  • Clear distinction between employment and freelancing in each role
  • Name of employers, in case of employment
  • As many details as you are allowed to disclose about project sponsors in case of freelancing
  • The education and experience which are relevant to the project / position you are applying for SHOULD have more detailed description than other education and positions, which CAN be mentioned only shortly. No point in providing many details to the first student job, if you already have 10 years of full time experience relevant to the project you are applying for.
  • In case you have several experiences relevant to the project you are applying for, please describe the more recent ones more detailed than the older ones.

Your project references

Many applicants struggle with the so called project references. In the consulting world the project reference is not the same as personal reference!

The project reference is simply a

  • structured information about the projects you worked on. Here it is important to separate out the project from your involvement in the project. If you worked for 6 months on a 5-years long project, please concentrate on the 5 years of the project, not your 6 months here:
    • project sponsor (name of company or at least which economic sector and organisation size),
    • project topic and objectives,
    • geographical reach (local / international, which cities / countries, etc)
    • size (how many teams, how big the teams),
    • project methodology,
    • country,
    • language(s) used;
  • and a description of your accomplishments in those projects – here you are in the focus. What were you hired for, what you accomplished, what you ended up doing:
  • and any other details from that project and role supporting your application (for IT projects usually technologies used)

which extends above and beyond the brief CV mention.

Please provide at least 1 reference, better two, but no more than three. If you have more, or if you are unsure, please choose the most relevant ones on top of your list (they don’t need to be chronological, put the best one on top, the second best below it, and so on). We will help you choose the relevant ones.
